MY TEACHING METAPHOR
My teaching metaphor is based on the idea that I am a child molder. I as teacher mold the learner thoughts in the sense that I provide my students the knowledge they need to be integral human beings.
I am quiet convinced that we as teachers can influence over the learner's actions and thoughts in positive or a negative way. For instance we must be very careful with the teaching we offer them.
Dear Liliana,
ResponderBorrarI really like your opinion of teaching. Something that strikes me is that we are not educating robots, all of our students are human beings and in that sense our job is to direct or "mold", as you mention above, our students' perceptions. According to this, I would like to ask you the following: How can we deal with all of the students' concerns and beliefs of today's society? Do you thing that we are working alone? Do we need help in this process? Thanks in advance for sharing your answers!
Hello Liliana
ResponderBorrarMy teaching metaphor is also focus in a more artistic way. I think that our role as teacher, comes from our minds and hearts. In this sense we can not see our students as machines. Everyday a new thing happen and it magnifies our profession. In this case, you see yourself as a sculptor who takes material from different places in order to desing the most beautiful sculpture. However it is necesary to mold it, to give a sense of perfection everyday. Thanks for sharing your beautiful idea of teaching.
Hi, Liliana. Nice picture! You have talked about the role for teachers as a molder. To provide a positive learning environment in order our students will be better people. Liliana, What strategies do you use to help your students to be "integral human beings"?
ResponderBorrarHello Liliana,
ResponderBorrarYou have presented some really interesting insights. I agree with you in the humanistic view that we as teachers must have about our students. However, in my very respectful opinion; I prefer thinking of guiding and providing tools for my students to mold their own lives and thoughts rather than being the molder of them.
Hello Liliana, for your teaching metaphor I could notice that you are a teacher who cares for the personal development of your students not only about knowledge but as integral human beings and that is what we as teachers should be aware of because we want or not we are models for our students.
